Application Example: In a tunneling project at a coal mine with a capacity of tens of millions of tons, a roadheader-anchor machine was advancing 30 meters per day through a sandy mudstone roof, requiring immediate anchor bolt support after every meter of excavation. Two sets of anchor bolt drilling rigs were deployed on each side of the equipment. Each set consisted of three hydraulic cylinders working in tandem: the tilting cylinder drove the drilling rig to rotate and position itself, the compensation cylinder ensured it was flush against the rock wall, and the pushing cylinder pressed a 2.2-meter anchor bolt into the rock strata with a thrust of 25 kN. Over three months of construction, more than 25,000 holes were drilled, with an average drilling time of less than 3 minutes per hole. The cylinder sealing system performed excellently in dusty environments, requiring only weekly lubrication, significantly improving support efficiency.

Customized hydraulic cylinders for railway hard rock tunnel boring machines
Tunnel boring machines (TBMs) had to overcome some of the most challenging geological conditions on Earth: high rock stress, thick granite strata, and complex fault zones. During the construction of a 20.8-kilometer-long twin-bore tunnel, four 10.2-meter-diameter grab TBMs were deployed. These machines excavated millions of tons of earth from deep within the plateau. Toleng Hydraulics provided a variety of custom-designed cylinders for these TBMs, including thrust cylinders, grab cylinders, and auxiliary cylinders.
